Workshop on “Learn to make Bird – Like aircraft in a day and fly” at Vijayawada on 25th February 2016 at A+ Convention Centre

Birds fly beautifully

Aircrafts fly high powerfully

Indo Taiwan Collaboration
The workshop  organised by Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University at Vijayawada provided hands-on experience to young students to make bird-mimicking objects called Ornithopters. Under the guidance of experts, the students were trained to build ornithopters from the modular kits and fly them. The primary objective was to enable the students to get practical insight into technology and thus inspire them for a professional career in engineering. Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University, in association with Victoria University, Canada and Tamkang University has launched a program for full-field health monitoring of long bridges and heritage structures using Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles under the aegis an international body called IC IMPACTS. This effort is the first of its kind in India and the results of this effort would be useful for ensuring safety and integrity of several structures in the country especially those located in inaccessible regions.
Vel Tech Dr. RR & Dr. SR Technical University launched M.Tech(Aeroneutical engineering) in specialisation with Unmanned aerial vehicle in association with UCAL-JAP. This programme is first of its kind in India.
