during Convocation
Prof.BeelaSatyanarayana , Vice Chancellor welcomed the Chief
Guest Hon’able Minister ShriYalamanchaliSatyanarayanaChowdary, Minister of
State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, other dignitaries,Graduants
and parents for this solemn occasion of the 5th convocation. He
expressed the milestone events, achievements of the university and highlighted
the National and International success stories of students excelling in
academics and research with “Education for Societal Growth” as nucleus.
The Chief Guest Hon’able Minister Y.S. Chowdarywas conferred
with Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science for his considerable contribution in
the areas of academics, sports, social entrepreneurship, innovation in
engineering, poverty alleviation, agriculture and rural development. In his Convocation address, he expressed his immense pleasure to be amidst
brilliant young minds. In the present situation of the unlimited demands and
limited resources, he reminded the importance of the roll of private education
sector for more contribution to enhance the skill development process.He
appreciated the management, faculty and student for the enormous progress in
innovation and research. He asked the youth to participate in Swachh Bharat and
Swasth Bharat. He emphasized the importance of resource optimization in
Engineering. He was impressed on the arrangements for International Yoga Day.
He called upon the young gradaunts to strive to make the nation a technology
exporter with research.
The Deans of Faculties
presented the graduants and toppers and the Chief Guest gave away the medals,
Cash awards and Degree Certificates. The parents were proud to see their wards
successfully graduated from the Vel Tech University.
The Convocation was
concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Chancellor.
